About The League

League Overview & Format

The Dorset league runs each year from September to April, and features clubs from across the county battling it out for their respective league title. There are both evening and afternoon leagues, with 2 divisions in each league.

Each team in the same division plays one another twice each season; one home fixture and one away fixture.

Every league match consists of games played on two mats. The evening league uses a format featuring a triple played on one mat (20 ends) and a four played on the other (15 ends). The afternoon league is similar, however includes two mats of triples. Two points are earned for a win on each mat (one point for a draw), with a further two points available for the overall aggregate shots across both mats. This results in a total of six points available per match.

Once the match is finished, the home team often provides tea/coffee encouraging a social aspect to the afternoon/evening.
