About the ICC
The ICC (Inter County Championship) is a competition run each season by the ESMBA (English Short Mat Bowling Association), the governing body for short mat bowls in England. The competition features county teams from across the country competing for the coveted ICC trophy.
The ICC begins with county teams participating in the group stages, broadly organised based on geographical location. Each game is played home and away, and includes twenty players. A match consists of four different disciplines (singles, pairs, triples and fours) played across four sessions, with a total of forty points available. Following the group stages, the top one/two teams progress to a knockout stage culminating in a final come the end of the season.
Dorset historically won their first ICC title in the 2022/23 season, and as a result later represented England at the Top Team event in Wales competing against Pembrokeshire (Wales) and North West Zone (Ireland).

ICC 2026/27 Season
The 2026/27 starts in September 2026!
Dorset have two teams entered for the 2026/27 season; Dorset Dynamos and Dorset Destroyers. Each team has group stage games against counties in the South West, including Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset.
